Recovery does not end on the treatment table.
Hands-on care may help address pain and movement restrictions. Therapeutic exercise helps you practice better movement and build the strength needed for everyday life.
Why exercise matters after an injury. After a car accident or injury, it’s common to move less to avoid pain. Over time, that can leave muscles weaker and joints stiffer than before. Therapeutic exercise helps you rebuild those movements step by step, so everyday tasks like turning your head while driving, lifting groceries, or sitting at a desk feel manageable again.
Five ways we rebuild movement.
Guided movement
Practice movements selected for your current ability and recovery stage.
Strength development
Build strength around areas affected by injury or inactivity.
Mobility work
Improve movement where stiffness or restriction is affecting daily activities.
Coordination and control
Learn to move with greater stability and confidence.
Home guidance
Receive clear instructions for what to do between visits when appropriate.
Your plan changes as you improve.
We do not push every patient through the same routine.
Your exercise plan is based on:
- Your injury
- Your current movement
- Your pain or limitations
- Your daily activities
- Your recovery goals
- Your response to care
When rehab may be recommended.
Your provider recommends therapeutic exercise only when it fits your evaluation and goals.
Your provider may recommend it if you are:
- Recovering from a neck or back strain
- Noticing stiffness that limits turning, bending, or reaching
- Feeling weaker in one area since your injury
- Finding it hard to return to work, exercise, or daily routines
- Finishing hands-on care and want to keep your progress
How it works
Assess
We identify the movements and activities that are difficult.
Build
Your provider selects exercises appropriate for your current ability.
Practice
You receive guidance on technique, pacing, and progression.
Reassess
The plan changes as your strength, movement, and function improve.
Therapeutic exercise may be used alongside:
Your home exercise plan.
Progress often happens between visits. When it’s appropriate, your exercise coordinator gives you a short set of exercises to do at home, shows you how to do each one safely, and checks your technique at your next visit. Home plans are kept simple: usually a few exercises you can do without special equipment.

Is exercise rehabilitation the same as a gym workout?
No. Exercises are selected for your current ability and recovery stage, with guidance on technique, pacing, and progression. The plan changes as you improve.
What should I wear?
Wear anything comfortable that lets you move freely and through a full range of motion.
Will I receive exercises to do at home?
When appropriate, you’ll receive clear instructions for what to do between visits.
How is progress measured?
Your provider reassesses your strength, movement, and function and changes the plan as you improve.
Do I need rehabilitation if I already receive chiropractic care?
Not necessarily. Your provider recommends only the services that fit your evaluation, needs, and progress. Hands-on care may help address pain and movement restrictions, while therapeutic exercise helps you build strength for everyday life.
That said, most of our patients do have exercise and rehab paired with their other services as part of their treatment plan.
