The right therapist matters.
Massage therapy is not one-size-fits-all. Each therapist brings different strengths, techniques, and areas of focus.
You choose your therapist, and you can switch at any time. If a therapist’s style or pressure isn’t the right fit, let our front desk know and we’ll help you book with someone else. We’ll do our best to match your preference, though specific therapist availability can’t be guaranteed.
Our team considers:
- Your injury or concern
- Your stage of recovery
- Your comfort preferences
- Areas of sensitivity
- Your treatment plan
- The technique best suited to your needs
Massage therapy may be used to support:
Before the session
Your therapist reviews the areas of concern and any instructions from the care team. They’ll also ask about your pressure preferences and any areas to avoid.
During the session
Pressure and technique are adjusted to your comfort and stage of recovery. Speak up anytime: you can ask for lighter pressure, a break, or to stop the session.
After the session
Your therapist may share observations with the care team and explain what to expect next. Some people feel mild soreness for a day or two; let your care team know how you feel at your next visit.
Massage after a car accident.
A collision can strain the muscles, tendons, and connective tissue of the neck, shoulders, and back, even when there are no visible injuries. Soreness and tightness sometimes show up hours or days later. When your provider recommends it, massage therapy may help ease muscle tension and soreness and make it easier to move as you recover.
Your massage therapist works from your care plan, so each session focuses on the areas your provider identified rather than a general relaxation routine.
Techniques your therapist may use
- Therapeutic massage. Steady, comfortable pressure to ease general muscle tension.
- Deep tissue work. Slower, firmer pressure for deeper layers of muscle, used only when your comfort and stage of recovery allow.
- Trigger point therapy. Focused pressure on tight, tender spots that can send discomfort to other areas.
- Myofascial release. Gentle, sustained stretching of the connective tissue around muscles.
- Assisted stretching. Guided stretches that support range of motion.

How do you match me with a massage therapist?
Our team considers your injury or concern, your stage of recovery, your comfort preferences, areas of sensitivity, your treatment plan, and the technique best suited to your needs.
We present our recommendations, but you choose which massage therapist you want to work with. You can also switch therapists at any time, no questions asked.
What type of massage will I receive?
Technique and pressure are chosen for your condition, comfort level, and stage of recovery, and adjusted during the session.
Can massage be part of an auto accident claim?
Massage therapy may be part of an accident recovery plan when your provider recommends it. Our team verifies available coverage. Coverage is not guaranteed.
Can I request a male or female therapist?
You can share your preference when you request an appointment. Our team will do its best to match it, though specific therapist availability can’t be guaranteed.
Can massage be combined with chiropractic care?
Yes, when it fits your plan. Your massage therapist, chiropractor, and rehabilitation team can communicate about your progress so care does not feel disconnected.
