A gentle approach matters.
Children are not simply smaller adults.
Our approach begins with listening to the parent, understanding what happened, and carefully evaluating the child before recommending any treatment.
Care is adapted to the child’s:
- Age
- Size
- Comfort level
- Symptoms
- Injury
- Development
- Individual needs
The goal is always to use an appropriate, measured approach rather than applying the same techniques used with every patient.
Reasons parents may bring a child to Dr. Ibolit
Parents may contact us when a child or teen is experiencing concerns related to:
Chiropractic care is not appropriate for every condition. An evaluation helps determine whether chiropractic care may be appropriate or whether another provider should be involved.
Was your child in the car too?
When families are involved in an automobile accident, parents naturally focus first on the most obvious injuries.
Children may not always describe discomfort the same way adults do, which is why parents may choose to have them evaluated after an accident.
At Dr. Ibolit, we take time to understand:
- What happened in the accident
- Where the child was seated
- What the parent has noticed since the accident
- Any changes in movement or activity
- Any discomfort the child reports
- Whether additional evaluation or referral may be appropriate
Care built around the child.
We listen first
We talk with the parent or guardian and, when appropriate, the child about what happened and what they are experiencing.
We evaluate carefully
The provider assesses movement, areas of tension, function, and other relevant concerns.
We explain what we find
Parents should understand what the provider is seeing and why any care is—or is not—being recommended.
We use an age-appropriate approach
If chiropractic care is appropriate, treatment is adapted to the child’s age, size, comfort, and needs.
We monitor progress
Care is adjusted based on how the child responds.
No one-size-fits-all adjustments.
Dr. Ibolit’s approach to younger patients is intentionally careful and individualized.
For very young children, evaluation and care may involve gentle movement, positioning, stretching, or other low-force techniques depending on the child’s needs.
Parents are part of the process.
Questions are encouraged throughout the process.
We want parents and guardians to understand:
- What we are evaluating
- What we find
- Why treatment is being recommended
- What the treatment involves
- What to watch for afterward
- When another type of provider may be more appropriate

A soft spot for younger patients.
The Dr. Ibolit name has always represented a doctor who cares deeply for those who need help.
That spirit carries into the way we work with children today: with patience, careful attention, honest recommendations, and a commitment to treating only what is actually needed.
What ages of children do you see?
Dr. Ibolit provides care for children and teens. Because the appropriate approach depends on the child’s age, condition, and needs, contact our team before scheduling very young children.
Do you adjust babies?
Dr. Ibolit may evaluate very young children when appropriate. Techniques used with infants and young children differ from those used with adults and are adapted to the child’s age and needs.
Contact our team to discuss your child’s situation before scheduling.
Should my child be evaluated after a car accident?
If your child has been involved in an accident and you have concerns about pain, movement, function, or other symptoms, contact an appropriate healthcare provider for evaluation.
Our team can help determine whether an appointment at Dr. Ibolit is appropriate.
Is chiropractic care painful for children?
Care should be adapted to the child’s age, size, comfort, and condition. If a child is uncomfortable or a technique is not appropriate, the provider can modify the approach or recommend another course of care.
Can parents stay with their child?
Yes. A parent or legal guardian should be involved in care for minor patients as required by clinic policy and applicable law.
Do you only treat children who were in car accidents?
No. Although Dr. Ibolit specializes primarily in auto-accident recovery, the clinic may also evaluate children with other chiropractic or musculoskeletal concerns.
